With The VibraTools Suite™ of toolboxes for MATLAB® you can turn your PC into a state-of-the-art mearsurement and analysis system for noise and vibration analysis, acoustics, structural dynamics, and environmental engineering (durability) analysis! Using this solution provides a low-cost system, with practically unlimited capabilities and with great advantages versus standard, menu-driven systems. The toolbox functions include import from many common data formats, and a structured data storage functionality that allows unlimited data sizes to be analyzed. In addition, you find advanced functions for spectrum analysis, statistics, order tracking, modal analysis etc. You can very easily set up your own menus if you appreciate menu driven operation for some tasks. Get your VibraTools Suite license today – and become productive using MATLAB, without having to write analysis functions for signal analysis, order tracking, modal analysis etc.! This way you can concentrate on what you really want to do – solving acoustic or vibration related problems.

Overview

The VibraTools Suite adds functions to MATLAB that form a powerful state-of-the-art mearsurement and analysis system for vibration analysis, acoustics, structural dynamics, and environmental engineering (durability) analysis. With the toolboxes you get functionality for spectrum analysis, RPM analysis (order tracking), modal analysis, durability analysis and much more. Each toolbox provides a comprehensive set of high-level commands which make it easy to perform even the most advanced tasks. The toolboxes come with a number of examples that illustrate how to perform tasks ranging from basic analysis such as statistics, filtering, data quality analysis, spectrum analysis and order tracking, to more advanced tasks such as modal analysis parameter estimation and generation of vibration test spectra from operating data.

Open Software

Using MATLAB together with the VibraTools Suite for analysis of noise and vibration signals simplifies traceability issues, since the analysis procedures are easily documented through the scripts. The VibraTools Suite consists of 100% open scripts, editable by the user. This makes it possible to see the details of the analysis, which is often important for good documentation. The ability to modify the built-in scripts also ensures a completely open software environment without limits. The VibraTools Suite -feel the power of open platforms- REDEFINED.

Efficiency

Although menus can be efficient in some cases, customer feedback has indicated that most of the time, for data analysis, the use of scripts (MATLAB m-files) that automate your typical tasks offers outstanding efficiency versus classical approaches. The vast majority of the analysis tasks in a typical lab, are standard procedures used to analyze data, for example from various vehicles under varying operating conditions, etc. Using a script file to analyze such data is much more efficient than performing analysis using menus. If you would like to use menus, with the VibraTools Suite you can define your own menu systems. We even supply some simplified ways to define menus, without using the built-in GUI functionality of MATLAB. With The VibraTools Suite, you can for example easily use menus for the selection of data, and then let the program automatically produce the results you need.

Data Storage

In The VibraTools Suite™ there is functionality for importing data from many of the common measurement systems on the market. We also provide a structured way to handle measurement data with header information such as measurement position and direction, engineering units, and fields for operating conditions, measurement objects etc. And more; if you are not satisfied with the standard data fields already available, it is a very simple task to extend the database with your own fields, because the software is completely open!

A Learning Experience

With VibraTools Suite in your hand you will find yourself in a learning experience, where you will gradually understand more of the details behind advanced noise and vibration analysis. The fact that you are using functions with input and output parameters, encourage you to think more about which variables are involved in the calculations than if you were using a menu driven system. In the long term, this means you will increase your understanding of the analysis processes, and thereby increase your abilities to solve your vibration problems and select procedures for any analysis situation.

Powerful Library

Command-driven software like The VibraTools Suite has a slightly higher learning threshold than menu-driven software. However, The VibraTools Suite is shipped with a comprehensive library of example files showing many typical tasks, entry-level as well as very advanced. With these examples you can easily start implementing your analysis procedures by extracting whatever you need from the supplied files. Thus, you get started very quickly and you will soon find that you save a lot of time running the scripts you have developed, compared with the previous software when you used menus!

Flexible Hardware Selection

VibraTools utilizes the “Data Acquisition Toolbox” from MathWorks. This allows for a large variety of hardware to be selected for measurements with VibraTools. Among the hardware are VXI Technology 1432/1433/1436, National Instruments USB-9233 and PCI/PXI Solutions. You can use VibraTools for anything from a simple, inexpensive 4-channel system to large multichannel systems. Measurements are extremely simple with our approach, Click-Done!
